Bible Study Overload And Loving It

I am up way too late dropping this post, but when creativity hits I have to write.  Also I have been having blog withdrawal this week not being able to write a lot.

So I am neck deep in Bible Studies right now.  You may have heard about this little series we are doing at church right now called Reset.  Very cool churchwide deal including 50 other churches in the Cincinnati area.  If you want more details on that check out my previous post.  So I am 1 week into this series and I am participating in the study with my small group, leading one for my Highschool small group, and working through the kiddie edition with my kids at home.  It has been a little work so far, but very insightful.  I plan on dedicating individual blog posts to this series at a later time.

I am also on board with Joe Boyd’s experimental Facebook Bible Study that started last Wednesday and will run during Lent.  This study takes up a little bit more time, but everything is online where I hang out on a regular basis to begin with.

Faith and I have dropped our regular Bible reading for this time to focus on these studies.  It is sometimes hard to be busy with this kind of stuff, but I eat it all up.  I have already been challenged in a lot of ways on top of finding time to read everything and spend focused time on the studies.  I don’t want to just run through it to get it done, so I have standards for how I spend my time reading scripture and reflecting on the challenges that are set before me.

I know that the next several weeks are going to feel like Bible Study overload, but I think that I am going to emerge from it with a different perspective about who Jesus is and a renewed thirst for God’s Word.

Is anyone else here trying to complete this Bible Study Decatholon?  How are you doing with it?
